Is Money Really In The List?
Yeah, most gurus will tell you that money is absolutely in the list! And you better believe them if long-term passive income is what you’re after. It’s true.
Now, realising the fact that it is crucial to build subscribers lists only answer part of the question. A bigger question is - how to build one?
Most marketers especially newbies got stuck at this point for very long time! They have a list with a big ZERO in term of size. Breaking this figure seems impossible.
I was definitely one of them as I was going on internet marketing adventure for over a year without a name to call my own list. Perhaps you fall into this category too but don’t feel bad as everyone had zero list when they started. Yup even all those we called gurus started at this very same figure.
When we first started, there are just too many options available for us to choose from. This is where information overload comes into play again and this phenomena is not going to go away anytime soon. We are simply lost!

You have:
- subscribed to all big gurus’ newletters and read them religiously
- purchased most ebooks that promised you instant wealth by this time next week
- bought a lot of tools and they just collect dust in your toolbox
- had a large collection of audio and video recordings made by internet marketing gurus
- participated in numerous webinars that had over-excited host manning the show
…and yet you are still as clueless as you were ever before.
Good news is - you’re not alone! Well may be that is not so good news after all.
I realised the secret to breaking this syndrome is - pinch yourself and say, ”hey, pick one method that you like and work on it and give it enough time to bear fruits”. Once it has worked, pick another method and move on…
Yes, the tried and tested “divide and rule” applies here too. So don’t feel bad if you can’t put every single theories you learnt about IM into use all at one go. The smarter way is to go small stepping.
One list that I built started quite accidentally. I visited a friend’s blog and he was talking about us joining a JV Giveaway event which was about to be launched. I had never joined such a campaign before as contributor but I did as a member to get free gifts.
Somehow I decided to try it out and started to do some some mental planning. Immediate questions come to mind:
- will I be accepted by the JV program owner?
- what to offer? Will people like it?
- how to design the squeeze page?
- how to setup the autoresponder?
- how to make money?
As with doing anything for the very first time, nothing is quite clear though.
